Jonathan Filbert is a Senior Software Engineer at ByteDance, building products for South-East Asia Global E-Commerce that reach millions of people across 17 countries through TikTok Shop in TikTok App and TikTok Seller App. He is also an open-source contributor to Lynx, ByteDance’s frontend framework.

He drove more than 200% growth for TikTok Shop’s Seller AI Assistant in Southeast Asia, significantly improving seller satisfaction, positive feedback, and adoption. He spearheaded the migration of 2.3 million Tokopedia sellers into TikTok Shop, powering $12 million in average daily GMV and contributing to $27 million in annual revenue.

Previously, he built zero-to-one crypto products at PINTU, spearheaded engineering for Indonesia’s first financial super-app at GoTo Financials, and launched fintech products at Tokopedia — driving impact across Indonesia and Southeast Asia through fintech, e-commerce, and consumer products.

In 2024, He joined ByteDance as a Senior Software Engineer in Global E-Commerce. He works in TikTok Shop's Fundamental Business organization alongside 130+ engineers across 7 cities, building seller experiences across TikTok Seller Center web, TikTok Seller App, internal operations platforms, and Tokopedia seller surfaces. Collaborating with teams across China, Singapore, Seattle, and Indonesia, He launched product features that contributed $154K daily GMV and $27 million in annual revenue. His contributions earned him the Global E-Commerce Quarterly Spot Award three times.

He led the TikTok Seller AI Assistant launch in Southeast Asia, driving major improvements in seller satisfaction, positive feedback, and adoption. He also spearheaded a major framework upgrade of 8 product pages to Lynx 3.0 and Rspeedy, cutting compile and build time from an hour to just 4 minutes and serving more than 1 million daily sellers across 6 regions and 17 countries. When Tokopedia and TikTok Shop joined forces, He played a critical role in the integration - helping migrate 2.3 million sellers and their cloud infrastructure while supporting $12 million in average daily GMV.

From 2022 to 2024, He was a founding engineer in the Crypto Investment team at GoTo Financials, where he helped build a zero-to-one crypto exchange inside the GoPay App - awarded Google Play Best App & User Choice Winner of 2023. He bootstrapped the team as one of its first engineers, retained a Rp 100 billion license from Indonesian Commodity Trading Agencies, spearheaded a 100-people internal launch, led the GoPay Crypto Frontend team, and spoke at conferences about the GoPay App story.

Earlier in 2022, He was a software engineer at Tokopedia, where he built and launched fintech consumer products including GoPayLater Cicil, Instant Loan, Tokopedia Card, and Tokopedia START.

Between 2020 and 2021, He was fortunate enough to be one of the first engineering hires at Pintu. As an engineer, He built and shipped Pintu's first website and mobile app into the market in early 2020, helping scale the app from 600 to 170K daily downloads, with 10x DAU growth, 30x MAU growth, 300x monthly transaction count growth, 325x customer growth, and 1800x trading volume growth.

In 2022, He also published his thesis paper at ICACSIS, the International Conference on Advanced Computer Science and Information Systems and was awarded best session presenter.
